Luke Greenfield is a painter based in the Wairarapa, New Zealand. His practice evolved from earlier sculptural work in wood and is now centred on oil painting.

Animals are central to his work. Often placed within familiar interior settings, they are treated as subjects of presence and character rather than portraiture. The compositions balance stillness with subtle tension.

Working predominantly in oils, Luke employs a limited palette and a wet-on-wet technique. His approach is direct and considered, with close attention to form, structure and atmosphere.
